This market in the quaint village of Stanley on Hong Kong Island's south coast is a huge hit with locals, expats and tourists for good reason: its enormous selection of brand-name clothing items (large sizes are available) and accessories, jewellery, home furnishings, souvenirs, ornaments and Oriental knick-knacks are sold at reasonable prices in a picturesque warren of lanes.
Located near the Nan Lian Nunnery, the Chi Lin Nunnery is established in 1934 and renovated in Tang dynasty style (AD 618-907). This nunnery is a large temple complex of elegant wooden architecture, treasured Buddhist relics and soul-soothing lotus ponds. The complex also includes a series of temple halls, some of which contain gold, clay and wooden statues representing divinities such as the Sakyamuni Buddha and bodhisattvas.
"Floating Village of Aberdeen", a quaint and charming village that is not far from the heart of Hong Kong, but seems like light-years away from it. Here you see rows upon rows of the old-fashioned junks and sampans, some house boats where the fishermen and their families still live. It is a very picturesque scene, with the unexpected touch of modernity right and left. The high-rises framing the harbor and the ultra-modern yachts moored not far away complete this picture of contrasts. You will then get to enjoy a 20 minutes Sampan ride around this fishing village.
Goldfish Market is lined on either side with shops devoted to the raising of many types of fish, from weirdly shaped goldfish to colourful tropical species with gaspingly high price tags.
Visit the Bird Street next, a Chinese-style garden adjacent to Mong Kok Stadium, covering an area of about 3,000 square meters. The main entrance is in Boundary Street and the other entrance is in Yuen Po Street, both entrances feature the design of Chinese archway.It is a popular place for both local bird lovers and tourists. There are a many stalls selling beautiful birds, exquisite bamboo bird cages and bird-care paraphernalia.
